Our Spring 2014 Day of Sharing was a great success. We met at a new venue, took care of a lot of business, including electing new State Representatives and running another successful silent auction! Sidney Galpern created an impressive display piece during her morning isomalt demo, and after lunch we learned how to mold and decorate sugar eggs. Oh, and Jay Qualls stopped by to help Sidney paint her isomalt hot air balloon, and he later gave us a brief presentation on the iPad app he uses to design his wedding cakes.
We are so lucky to have such a fantastic group of cake decorating and sugar art enthusiasts, and a huge THANK YOU to everyone who worked to make the day a success!
Below are select pictures from the Day of Sharing. All the photos I took are posted on Photobucket in the March 2014 Day of Sharing Album. They’re organized into sub-albums for the isomalt demo, display pieces, sugar egg demo, Jay’s app, and scholarship winners.
Congratulations to scholarship winner Shari Nance, pictured with past scholarship winners.
